Blog - Back at last!
After a Covid- enforced absence of over 12 months it was so good to be back at the Mill. Mid July and the house was in great shape unaffected by so little interest being shown in it! The big news was the garden - everything had been growing madly and the flowers were simply gorgeous. The highlight was the bougainvillea, the plant that wouldn’t grow up here, its lush purple flowers cascading over the wall by the albercas. The jasmine has grown enthusiastically and its sweet scent wafts up to the western terrace - heaven! The roses, the plumbago, the lavender, all growing with abandon. The lime and lemon trees showing fruit, the lime for the first time, and the orange trees heavy with green fruit promising much for the months ahead. Pears and quince and fig trees all fruiting splendidly. And day after day of clear blue skies and warmth.
