REVIEW - Helen, andy & Family, EnglanD: May 2019
Understated, restful luxury. Viejo Molino, as the name suggests, is a converted mill. The millstones are still in the garden. It is nestled in a beautiful wooded valley on the edges of Jabugo, which is the home of Iberico pork and you may catch a glimpse of the pigs rooting through the woods.
This is an unspoilt part of Spain and is perfect for those looking to relax and experience a slower pace of life. We spent an extremely relaxing week at the Mill in May, there were 8 of us staying there but it never felt cramped, it is enormous!
It has been converted very sympathetically and has a fully speced modern kitchen, wi-fi and 4 ensuite bedrooms. The whole house is beautifully cool in the heat, as a result of the thick stone walls. The Mill is over 4 floors: with the kitchen, living area and ensuite bedroom on the top level and bedrooms and bathrooms on the lower 3 floors, as the house is built on the side of the valley.
We spent most of the week at the Mill itself. It has a terrace overlooking the valley, with amazing views of the sunset, you can see the village in the distance and maybe one other house, which is about half a mile away. Apart from that it is uninterrupted woodland.
There are two plunge pools to cool down in and a pétanque court. Overall an amazing house in a beautiful location. Would highly recommend.
